Featured project: White Birch Valley Lane

This 1986 traditional Chesterfield home was purchased about a year and a half ago by a young couple with two little ones. The foyer was originally finished with traditional honey oak finishes, and our homeowners envisioned a more relaxed, casual modern vibe that better suited their lifestyle.

The result: a warm, organic modern transformation — where clean lines, natural textures, and a calming palette come together to create a space that feels fresh, grounded, and effortlessly stylish.

The baseboards were upgraded with a more substantial trim, and all door, window, stair skirting, and base trims were painted a crisp white to create a bright and welcoming atmosphere. White oak handrails and posts were installed on both sides of the staircase and are complemented by black metal balusters that provide a striking contrast to the light wood.

The neutral herringbone carpet on the staircase is both stylish and family-friendly, offering durability for everyday life. Sherwin-Williams’ “Neutral Ground” on the walls provides a fresh, clean backdrop that resists showing every smudge from active kids. A modern minimalist black metal chandelier finishes the space, providing a subtle touch of drama while preserving the light and airy feel.
