Our founder and owner, Joe Maestas, is a fourth-generation tradesman. Joe began his own plastering company in St. Charles in 2003, formerly known as Maestas Plastering. In 2017, the company began taking on larger projects, such as kitchens, bathrooms, and room additions, and changed its name to Maestas Home Improvements. The team continued to build on their evolving skill sets and brought in additional talent to form Rosewood Building Group in 2025.
Joe’s creativity thrives as a construction professional and as a touring musician in punk and pop rock. The inspiration for the company’s name comes from rosewood, which is known for its rich, dark grain and luxurious feel. This timber is commonly used to make guitars and also serves as a nod to the role of woodworking in home construction. Family history, tradition, and creative passions guide everything we do at Rosewood Building Group — and we’re proud of our growth.
